Benson Boone starts a loud week

A pop headliner opens the week at the BOK Center, Underoath squeezes into a club that holds a few hundred, the Floozies take over the Cain's dance floor the same night, and the Drillers are home for six straight games. Here is what is worth your time this week.

The one thing

Benson Boone plays the BOK Center on Tuesday, July 28, with Olivia O'Brien opening. Boone is out on the Wanted Man tour, which started July 7, 2026 in Pittsburgh and runs 34 dates through early September, and he is still touring behind American Heart, the 2025 album that put three of his songs on the Billboard Hot 100 in a single week. He is also one of the more physical performers working right now, all backflips and full voice, and the BOK is the right size to let him swing. Tuesday is an unusual night for an arena show downtown, so plan parking accordingly.

Live music

Friday, July 31 is the night the week splits in two.

Underoath headlines The Vanguard with Held opening. The Vanguard holds a few hundred people, which makes this a genuinely small room for a band that has been headlining festivals since the 2000s. They are still touring The Place After This One, their tenth album, released March 28, 2025 and the heaviest thing they have made since the reunion.
The Floozies bring their electronic funk to Cain's Ballroom the same evening. Brothers Matt and Mark Hill put out a record called Pandemonium on March 13, 2026, and the show is built to keep that sprung maple floor moving for a couple of hours.

Saturday, August 1 offers two very different parties. K-POP Superstars takes over Cain's with an early 5:15 pm start, which makes it one of the rare all ages nights on the calendar. Later, Straight Tequila Night plays 90s country at The Vanguard at 9 pm, 21 and over.

Festivals and free stuff

The Tulsa Farmers' Market is open Saturday morning, August 1, from 7 to 11 am at 1 South Lewis. Go early if you want the good tomatoes.
The splash pad at Guthrie Green runs daily from 10 am to 8 pm, free, and it is the cheapest way to survive an Oklahoma August with kids in tow.
Route 66 turns 100 this year, and the Gathering Place is running centennial programming all summer, from retro festivals to movie nights outdoors.

Sports

The Tulsa Drillers are home all week at ONEOK Field, hosting the Northwest Arkansas Naturals for six straight games from Tuesday, July 28 through Sunday, August 2. The first five start at 7 pm and the Sunday finale is at 12:05 pm. Tuesday is $2 Tuesday with discounted tickets and $2 concessions, and Wednesday, July 29 is Bark in the Park, so the dog can come. FC Tulsa is on the road this week and back at ONEOK Field on Saturday, August 8 against Detroit City FC.

On the horizon

Next week is busy. The Black Crowes play Hard Rock Live in Catoosa on Thursday, August 6. The Stray Cats are at The Cove on Friday, August 7, the same night Tom Kenny & the Hi-Seas bring a twelve piece soul revue to the Vanguard. Then Marco Antonio Solis fills the BOK Center on Saturday, August 8. A week later, Megan Moroney and Ghostland Observatory land on the same Saturday, August 15. Full rundown in next week's edition.
