Megan Moroney came out of Georgia with a sharp pen and a nickname she gave herself, the emo cowgirl. Her 2023 breakout Tennessee Orange turned a quiet confession, wearing a rival team's color for a boy, into a four times platinum number one and carried her from open mics to the front of country's new class.
Her songs live in the messy middle of a relationship, funny and raw in the same line, with an eye for the small detail that stings. Records like Lucky and Am I Okay? built a deep catalog of heartbreak the whole room can sing, and she has the hardware to match, New Artist of the Year at the 2024 CMAs and the first ever Best Country win at the 2025 MTV VMAs.
