About Eddie Griffin
Four shows in two nights.
It started on a dare. Eddie Griffin took an amateur night stage in Kansas City because somebody bet him he would not, and that turned into a career that has now run close to forty years. He built the act on the Richard Pryor and Redd Foxx lineage, sharpened it opening for Andrew Dice Clay on a tour of twenty two cities, and then took it to Def Comedy Jam.
Most people met him through the screen. He played Eddie Sherman on Malcolm & Eddie for four seasons, wrote, produced and directed episodes of it, and co-wrote the theme song with Malcolm-Jamal Warner. Then came Undercover Brother in 2002, John Q the same year, and both Deuce Bigalow films. Through all of it he kept doing stand up, which is still where the real act lives.
He runs four shows at Bricktown Comedy Club, Friday, September 4 and Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 7 pm and 9:45 pm each night. The late shows with a comic like this are usually the looser ones. Bricktown is on South Yale, and Labor Day weekend means the rest of downtown is busy, so a south Tulsa club with its own lot is not a bad plan.
