Slayer is one of the most extreme and influential bands in metal history, a founding member of thrash's Big Four alongside Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax. From the 1986 landmark Reign in Blood on, they built a catalog of fast, brutal, uncompromising music, with Angel of Death and Raining Blood as calling cards.
Led by Kerry King and Tom Araya, they spent decades as the heaviest band on almost any bill, then played a farewell tour and called it a career in 2019. The reunion that followed has been rare and selective, a handful of festival headline slots rather than a full tour, which makes each date a real event.
Live, Slayer is sheer intensity, a wall of guitars, pits from front to back, and zero filler. Catching them at Rocklahoma puts them on a stacked metal bill, so show up ready.
