About Gladys Knight
The Empress eases off the road.
In late August 2026 Gladys Knight told her audience she is easing into fewer performances. Her words were about transition rather than retirement, about spending more time with her husband's projects and her grandchildren, and she still has dates booked into November. It is not a farewell tour and she has not called it one. It is a legend saying out loud that she is going to do less of this.
That makes a September show a different proposition than it was a month ago. Knight has been the Empress of Soul for most of a lifetime, from the Pips through Midnight Train to Georgia and a solo career that never really stopped. There are not many voices left from that era still doing full shows.
She plays Hard Rock Live on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at 8 pm, the night after a festival date in Dallas. Hard Rock Live is out in Catoosa, a straight run east on I-44, and it is a seated theater room with good sightlines and parking attached to the casino. If you have been telling yourself you would catch her sometime, sometime is getting shorter.
