About Drake White
Fields of Gold opens the fair.
Drake White gets the first night of the Tulsa State Fair, October 1, 2026 at 7:30 pm on the Oklahoma Stage. The fair runs eleven days at Expo Square and books a different act every single night, so somebody has to go first. Opening it with a singer who works this hard onstage is a good call.
His album Fields of Gold pushes his country writing toward blues and folk, with a little electronic texture underneath, and the single Golden Hour is the one that pulled people in. He has been building toward that mix for years rather than arriving at it suddenly.
He tours as Drake White and The Big Fire, and the band is the point. White sings like a soul singer who happened to land in country music, and a fairgrounds crowd on a Thursday night in early October is exactly the kind of loose, mixed audience that suits him.
