About Built To Spill
Indie rock heroes with a guitar sound all their own.
Built To Spill are one of the most beloved and influential indie rock bands of the last thirty years. Built around Doug Martsch's distinctive voice and layered, expressive guitar work, the Boise, Idaho group helped shape the sound of 90s indie rock with records like Keep It Like a Secret and Perfect From Now On.
Their songs balance epic, winding guitar workouts with warm, melodic heart, an influence you can hear in countless bands that followed. Decades in, Martsch is still writing and still touring, with the same restless love of the instrument.
Live, Built To Spill lean into the guitars, jammy and gorgeous and loud. Headlining The Vanguard, an intimate club, is a great way to catch a band this revered up close.
