Buckethead is one of the most singular figures in modern guitar. Hidden behind a white mask and a KFC bucket, the California player, born Brian Carroll, fuses blazing shred with funk, metal, ambient soundscapes, and surprisingly tender melodies into a style all his own.
He is almost impossibly prolific, with hundreds of albums to his name, including the long running Pike series, and he spent years as the lead guitarist in Guns N Roses. Few musicians have ever been this technically dazzling and this strange.
Live, it is a guitar clinic that turns into something stranger and more playful, nunchucks and robot dancing included. Headlining Cain's Ballroom is a treat for anyone who loves the instrument.
