Bob Wills' music comes home.
Some bookings just feel right. Cain's Ballroom was Bob Wills' home base in the 1930s, the room where the Texas Playboys broadcast western swing across the plains. Asleep at the Wheel have spent more than fifty years keeping that music alive, so this is less a concert than a homecoming.
Ray Benson still leads the band, a Grammy winning institution many times over. Their album Riding High in Texas arrived in August 2025 and celebrates a half century of the band's life in the Lone Star State.
They play Cain's on Friday, August 28, 2026. Two steppers, bring a partner. The dance floor has heard these songs before.
