About AFI
Darkly theatrical punk behind Miss Murder.
AFI have spent more than thirty years turning hardcore punk into something darker and more theatrical. The California band, led by Davey Havok and guitarist Jade Puget, broke wide with the album Sing the Sorrow and the single Girl's Not Grey, then went even bigger with Decemberunderground and the anthem Miss Murder.
Their sound mixes punk energy with goth and post punk drama, and a devoted fanbase has followed them through every reinvention. They are still at it, with a new album out in 2025 that leans into their gothic side.
Live, AFI is intense and dramatic, all dark energy and crowd singalongs. Headlining Cain's Ballroom, with Choir Boy along, is a fitting room for a band built on a loyal following.
